DIMPLES
And moving right
along
Have we told you about "Dimples" in
Burbank yet? Since it's opening in 1982 as the very
first Karaoke club outside of Japan, Dimples has
been reported on in every newspaper in L.A. and
news show, and has also been featured on many TV
series and movies such as: "Eye on L.A.," "Blind
Date," "Two on the Town," and Eddie Murphy's "The
Klumps," etc..
----- TVIs Larry
Leverret and Donna, along with TVIs publishers,
Troy & Josie Cory, met the lovely actress Ann
Robinson, of War of the World, and the rest of the
guest attending the event. (see Photo). There was
even a recent channel 9 special on karaoke which
prominently featured only Dimples.
-----Sal
Ferraro, who is the owner of
Dimples
is a prominent business man in the area, owning
auto dealerships and other successful businesses
all around town. It was legendary producer Hal
Roach back in the early 80's who first brought a
karaoke machine to Sal and told him "This is the
hottest thing in Japan". It was the genius of Sal
(see PHOTOS)
who knew just what to do with
it, and took it from there.
Troy
Cory, our e-tviNews
editor,
and China Trade
Expert, has used Dimples for many years to host his
China dignataries, U.S. businessmen, and shoot a
few promo spots. (see PHOTOS)
Performers on stage not only
get to be seen on Dimples own cable TV show which
is seen on five different channels, but also get to
be seen (and maybe discovered) by the big shots at
Warner Brothers across the street, who can watch
the shows from a live-action broadcast on a huge
screen right outside the bar.

About Quincy Jones
---During
that last 19 years Pete has interviewed well over
30,000 people, many of whom are notables from Oprah
Winfrey, Larry King, and Red Skelton to legendary
actors Anthony Quinn, Morgan Freeman and James Earl
Jones to sports figures Oscar De La Hoya and
Evander Holyfield. Pete is a versatile
communicator. He has written for over 40
publications with Celebrity Scene News, TVI
Magazine, Vegas Flash and Hollywood In Action
columns. Pete segued from journalism to radio and
television working initially with James Brown, The
Godfather of Soul, Robert Goulet, Troy Cory and
Englebert Humperdinck. Pete's interviews are
uplifting and
inspirational.
---What
the majority of folks don't know about is Pete's
entertainment background. He started in Houston,
Texas with Bubba Thomas and The Lightmen as a
vocalist and promoter where he developed jazz clubs
in restaurants. After working with Bubba, Pete
relocated to Las Vegas, opening his own revue at
the Fremont Hotel, later moving to the The Marina
Hotel on the "Strip," now the MGM. He was also
instrumental in exposing artists such as Kirby Van
Burch, The Prince of Magic and dancer/singer Lyn
Ashley to Las Vegas.
---
In the
90's, Pete branched out into producing television
commercials for such clients as Sam Woo BBQ, Dragon
Sushi and The Olympic Garden Gentlemen's Club. He
continues to produce local commercials which are
cost effective with the same quality as national
commercials. Pete has effectively employed such
names as comedy-legend/singer Steve Rossi, actor
Michael DeLano, actress Gale Baker and
entertainer/actor Mayf L. Nutter for product
endorsements.
---
Pete is
currently in production with the televised version
of Las Vegan Report airing weekly on LookRadio.com,
Warner Brothers - Las Vegas, cable 12 and UPN 25.
He holds the titles of Executive Director of Public
Relations for Las Vegan Magazine and is Executive
Producer, Director and Host of The Las Vegan
Report.
---
Pete
enjoys his positions as broadcaster, producer and
talk-show host. He is available for lectures and
tourism promotion for vacation destination spots
throughout the United States and
abroad.

Steve Rossi on Talk America Radio Network based in
Boston, Massachusetts and is also heard on Cable
Radio Network (CRN) on shows Take It To The Limit
with Buck Hunter, The Jersey Boy Show and The
B-Team Show. CRN, based in Sunland, California,
reaches over 15 million households nationwide, 3*
million of which are based in the Los Angeles area.
Other stations which broadcast Celebrity Scene News
independently are 94.7 BOSS Radio in Augusta,

which is conveniently surrounded by Warner

TVI
Magazine introduces here a new marketing forum for
the international television industry: a dynamic
online service on its Web site. TVI Magazine will
now effectively serve the new marketing needs of
all entertainment companies with a tool that offers
almost instantaneous promotion updates. Company
promotional material that appears on TVI Magazine's
Web site can be hyperlinked with the company's own
URL. TVI Magazine can also link the ads to a
special Web page for the advertiser and then link
that page to the advertiser's
URL.
-----
To
ensure that visitors find their way to promotion
information and product updates, TVI Magazine is
listing TVI Magazine Online on more than 250 of the
world's most popular search engines and electronic
directories.
-----
Online
ad space can be purchased in monthly increments
(with a one-month minimum). At renewal time,
advertisers can change their ad and/or move it to
another space if one is available. The TVI Magazine
Web site will indicate the total number of hits on
the home page per month and per day, enabling
advertisers to monitor their reach and billings
regularly.
-----
TVI
Magazine has two key pages for ad placement: the
index page (home page) and the main page (main page
of articles). Less expensive ad space is available
on article pages. Advertisers can provide the
artwork and/or logo, either by submitting the file
electronically or via an existing graphic on the
Web that TVI Magazine's online team can
grab.
-----
Most
ads can be posted on the TVI Magazine site within a
few hours. However, in the event that any graphic
manipulation is required, one must allow more time
before the ad is posted, usually two to seven
business days for a static banner and up to 10
business days for an animated banner ad.
To
Send A Voice, said Stubblefield, in 1902,
AMONG THE MOST
important methods are those operating: (1) by
electro-magnetic induction; (2) by electric current
dispersion, (wired); (3) by variation of a beam of
light, (thermal); (4) by electro-static induction;
and (5) by electro-magnetic waves; or (6) by a
combination of all 5. The first and fifth methods,
namely that of electro-magnetic induction and by
electro-magnetic waves, were the simplest and
easiest for Stubblefield to demonstrate to the
layman on how the human voice could be transmitted
and received through space, without connecting
wires, "even though" he stated, "walls and other
objects that obtruded the transmission, was
standing in the way."
For best
results, to maintain articulate voice quality,
he combined, early
in 1890, methods 1, 2, 4 and 5 to transmit and
receive articulate voice. He was the first to use a
loudspeaker with his wireless. (Figure 01.20).
During World I and II, the Army Signal Corps and
AT&T called this combined system, the "Squier
System" or "Wired Wireless". If one system was
knocked out by the enemy, the other system would
still operate.
MAXWELL'S ETHER THEORY DIES - November, 13,
1931. The one-hundredth anniversary of Clerk
Maxwell's birth was marked by the scientific world
"digging a grave for the theory of a luminiferous
ether," but at the same time honoring Maxwell's
mathematical genius.
