-- is an action/adventure film
in the tradition of CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON. CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, an independent feature film, has already grossed over $100,000,000. An article in the December 21, 2000, Los Angeles Times states that CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON is being called the TITANIC of the independent film world and that long movie lines - the kind rarely seen these days in the age of the multiplex &endash; have been forming outside theaters. The article goes on to say that audiences are discovering a combination of spectacular martial arts fighting, romance and even a feminist sensibility. Paul Degarabedian of Exhibitor Relations, a box office tracking service says that the movie is so visual and visceral that it doesn't matter that its subtitled and in another language. FORBIDDEN SAMURAI will be shot in English on three different continents, giving the film a rich and exotic feel

Lacking any American stars,
and subtitled into English, CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON relied solely on its story and action to propel it. By contrast a typical studio-produced American movie will cost $100,000,000 and usually contains at least one major star. What this goes to show is that the lower budget independent film can compete in today's market place. Action/ adventure films, whether they are independently produced, or studio produced are indeed the most desirable genre of film today, both domestically and abroad, according to such industry legends as multi-Academy Award winner Phillip Yordan. Mr. Yordan has said that -- "of the 74 films that I have been involved in, the action/adventure films always do the biggest business and "FORBIDDEN SAMURAI" has all the elements of a successful motion picture."
