At the biggest moment of the game, the
Rams' John Johnson came up with the big
play, intercepting a deflected Drew Brees
pass at the L.A. 46-yard line with 13:56
left. That set up Zuerlein for the
game-winner with 11:47 left. The victory
by the Rams is the first in the conference
title game by the road team in six years,
but it wasn't without controversy.

They'll play the New England Patriots at
Super Bowl
Overtime field
goal sends Rams to Super Bowl: Until it
mattered, the Los Angeles Rams never led
against the New Orleans Saints in the NFC
conference championship game in the
Superdome, rocking with fans.
And when it did, in overtime, Greg
Zuerlein hit a 57-yard field goal that
stunned the Saints and silenced the crowd,
sending Jared Goff and the Rams into the
Feb. 3 Super Bowl against either the
Chiefs or Patriots.
"Unbelievable," was the only word Goff
could come up with in his postgame
interview. "[We were] just trying
to score, get into field goal range . . .
C.J. [Anderson] was running the
ball well and I expect Todd
[Gurley] to have a [heck]
of a game in the Super Bowl. I can't
believe I'm even saying that.
Unbelievable."
-- first overall pick by the Los Angeles
Rams in the 2016 NFL Draft.
At issue was a no-call on what appeared to
be pass interference on a Brees pass to
Tommylee Lewis. It was broken up by
Nickell Robey-Coleman, with Fox's Mike
Pereira, Dean Blandino and Troy Aikman
calling for a pass-interference flag. The
Saints ended up settling for field goal
with just under 2 minutes left.
Overtime! A 48-yard field goal attempt by
Greg Zuerlein with 19 seconds remaining
tied the score and sent the title game
into overtime. (Game tied at 23-23, 0:19
remaining in fourth quarter)
A bad call? At the worst time, officiating
becomes the focus. The Rams defense had
become pesky, holding the Saints scoreless
in a six-possession stretch of the second
half when Drew Brees did that thing he
does, finding Ted Ginn on a 43-yard pass
with just over 2 minutes left, giving the
Saints a first down at the Rams' 13-yard
line. The Los Angeles defense stiffened
and, on third down, Brees's pass to
Tommylee Lewis was broken up by Nickell
Robey-Coleman, with Fox's Mike Pereira,
Dean Blandino and Troy Aikman calling for
a pass-interference flag. The result? The
Saints, who probably should have just gone
to a power running game there, settled for
a 31-yard field goal with 1:41 left.

stirs controversy at Sundance Film
Festival,
"Leaving
Neverland" premiered at the Sundance Film
Festival (Jan. 24 - Feb. 3) and is set to
air on HBO this spring in a two part
series that explores allegations of sexual
misconduct by the legendary singer.
Meanwhile the Michael Jackson Estate is
denouncing the documentary's
allegations.
MICHAEL JACKSON'S FAMILY MAKES
STATEMENT
Michael
Jackson is our brother and son. We
are furious that the media, who without a
shred of proof or single piece of physical
evidence, chose to believe the word of two
admitted liars over the word of hundreds
of families and friends around the world
who spent time with Michael, many at
Neverland, and experienced his legendary
kindness and global generosity. We
are proud of what Michael
Jackson stands for.
People have always
loved to go after Michael. He was an easy
target because he was unique. But
Michael was subjected to a thorough
investigation which included a surprise
raid of Neverland and other properties as
well as a jury trial where Michael was
found to be COMPLETELY INNOCENT.
There has never been one piece of proof of
anything. Yet the media is eager to
believe these lies.
Michael
always turned the other cheek, and we have
always turned the other cheek when people
have gone after members of our family -
that is the Jackson way. But we can't just
stand by while this public lynching goes
on, and the vulture tweeters and others
who never met Michael go after him.
Michael is not here to defend himself,
otherwise these allegations would not have
been made.
The
creators of this film were not interested
in the truth. They never interviewed a
single solitary soul who knew Michael
except the two perjurers and their
families. That is not journalism,
and it's not fair, yet the media are
perpetuating these
stories.
But
the truth is on our side. Go
do your research about these
opportunists. The facts don't lie,
people do. Michael Jackson was
and always will be 100% innocent of these
false allegations.

HOLLYWOOD, CA (January 7,
2019) - Oscar-nominated (Come Back, Little
Sheba) actress Terry Moore, who stars in
the upcoming Rudolph Valentino film Silent
Life, celebrated her 90th birthday,
January 7, making her one of the oldest
female actors in a leading role in a
Hollywood production. Moore signed on to
star in Silent Life as the mysterious Lady
in Black, as announced last year by
writer/director/star of the film, Vlad
Kozlov, who produced the film under his
Dreamer Pictures banner.
"I've had so much
fun working on 'Silent Life' every day,
and being on set, still doing what I love
at 90. It has been wonderful!" said
Moore.
The milestone
birthday was celebrated with several
events over the past few weeks, leading up
to today, when Moore will celebrate with
close friends and family at her son's home
in Beverly Hills.
"The character of
'The Lady in Black,' who visits
Valentino's grave each year with a single
red rose, the symbol of unspoken love, is
dressed in all black not only because she
is mourning the death of Rudolph
Valentino, but she is mourning the whole
classic Hollywood bygone era. No one could
have done it better than Terry. She is one
of the very last surviving icons of the
Golden Age Hollywood," said Kozlov.
Silent Life is a
period piece shot in historic Hollywood
locations and features Isabella
Rossellini, Sherilyn Fenn, Paul Rodriguez
and Franco Nero. The film tells the story
of Rudolph Valentino, the first Hollywood
superstar and male sex symbol, as he
ponders the most important philosophical
questions of human existence from his
deathbed. After Valentino's unexpected
death in 1926, a mysterious Lady in Black
continued to visit his grave on every
anniversary of his death with a single red
rose, the symbol of love, hiding her own
secrets under a black veil.

About Terry Moore
Terry Moore, born in
1929, was the leading lady in the Mighty
Joe Young (1949) during the Golden Age of
Hollywood. Terry knew Elvis, was best
friends with Marilyn Monroe, dated James
Dean, and starred in dozens of films in
the 1950s, in addition to her many
television roles, including 3 episodes of
Batman with Adam West. In 1984, she made
news as Howard Hughes' widow, posing for
Playboy when she was in her 50s. Ms.
Moore's most notable performance was in
1952's Come Back, Little Sheba for which
she received an Oscar nomination as Best
Supporting Actress.
Born
Helen Luella Koford in Los Angeles,
California, Terry Moore worked as a child
model before she made her film debut at
age 11 in 20th Century-Fox's Maryland
(1940). Throughout the 1940s she worked
under a variety of names (her own, Judy
Ford and January Ford) before settling on
Terry Moore in 1948. Placed under contract
by Columbia Pictures, Moore was loaned out
to RKO for one of her most famous films,
Mighty Joe Young (1949).
In
1953 she received an Academy Award
nomination for her performance in
Paramount's Come Back, Little Sheba
(1952). In the 1970s she was in the news
more than she was in films, asserting that
she was the secret wife of the late
billionaire Howard Hughes. She has starred
in 77 feature films and listed among her
leading men are such Hollywood legends
including Burt Lancaster, John Wayne, Cary
Grant, Tyrone Power, Glenn Ford, Mickey
Rooney and Robert Wagner.
Since
she was a pilot herself, Terry played a
major role in preparing Leonardo DiCaprio
for his portrayal of Howard Hughes in The
Aviator (2004). She is a skilled pilot and
was the third woman in the world to check
out in a jet.

As
CES ballooned into an overwhelming crush
of products, in recent years, longtime
attendees griped about too much stuff and
not enough
substance.
There
was less emphasis on the typical CES
electronics like televisions, tablets and
smartphones, and more attention paid to
industry-changing innovations such as
connected, electric and driverless cars;
the Internet of Things; drones; virtual
reality and gaming; and entertainment
tech. To reflect that shift, the Consumer
Electronics Assn., which produces CES, ind
2016 changed its name to the Consumer
Technology Assn. -- a symbolic move.
With
automakers heavy presence at CES, in
recent years it has become almost as much
of a car show as a consumer electronics
one. Although cars weren't historically
part of the CES lineup, the auto
industry's participation "is an absolute
natural fit" as cars have become important
platforms to house technology.
Another
big trend at CESjudging by all the
connected gadgets and appliances is about
to strip you of much of your privacy,
what's called the Internet of Things
For
items such as appliances and accessories,
everything continues to get smarter. The
fridge can tell you that you're out of
milk; your bed knows how many times you
tossed and how many times you turned; your
blender can weigh your smoothies; and your
shower can scold you for being a water
hog.
You
have a steady stream of data about your
personal behavior that can be combined
with other information to provide
marketers, insurers and others with
extremely intimate portraits of the life
you lead when you think no one's
watching.
made all the more troubling by the fact
that there's very little regulation
overseeing this fast-growing corner of
cyberspace.
"There's
definitely a creepiness factor," said
Gilad Rosner, founder of the Internet of
Things Privacy Forum, a London think tank.
"Things that didn't Internet before are
now Internetting."
He
gave the example of someone having a
so-called smart scale in their bathroom.
On the plus side, it could transmit data
to a smartphone app that enables you to
track your weight over various lengths of
time and show which foods are having the
biggest impact.
"But you might not know where else the
information is going," A hacker could slip
in through a poorly protected smart
appliance and gain access to your entire
home network.
They could turn on all cameras and
microphones in all your devices and see
and hear everything you do, or shut down
your entire network.
There
is great need for federal authorities to
create rules for business' use of customer
data. Rapid advances in connected devices
underline the importance of privacy
safeguards.
It
is stimated that 6.4 billion connected
gadgets will be in use worldwide by the
end of this year, rising to almost 21
billion by 2020. Roughly 5.5 million
devices are hooked up to the Internet of
Things every day.
CES,
represents
the $211 billion U.S. consumer electronics
industry.
The International CES is the world's
gathering place for all who thrive on the
business of consumer technologies. It has
served as the proving ground for
innovators and breakthrough technologies
for more than 40 years&emdash;the global
stage where next-generation innovations
are introduced to the marketplace. As the
largest hands-on event of its kind, CES
features all aspects of the industry. And
because it is owned and produced by the
Consumer Electronics Association (CEA),
the technology trade association
representing the $211 billion U.S.
consumer electronics industry, it attracts
the world's business leaders and
pioneering thinkers to a forum where the
industry's most relevant issues are
addressed.

101- OHIO STATE AND
WASHINGTON
TO
PLAY
IN
THE ROSE BOWL GAME
- By Gary Sunkin
Since 1890, the Tournament of Roses has
produced America's New Year Celebration,
bringing the traditions of the Rose Parade
and Rose Bowl Game to Pasadena and the
world for nearly 130
years.
The Ohio State Buckeyes,
champions of the Big Ten Conference, and
the Washington Huskies, champions of the
Pac-12 Conference, will play in the 105th
Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern
Mutual at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET, on January
1, 2019, at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
This year's Rose Bowl Game will be the
12th meeting between the Ohio State
Buckeyes and the Washington Huskies, but
will be the first occurrence in The
Granddaddy of Them All.
No. 9 Washington is headed back to the
Rose Bowl for the first time since a 34-24
victory over Purdue on Jan. 1, 2001.
No. 5 Ohio State is headed back to the
Rose Bowl for the first time since a 26-17
victory over Oregon on Jan. 1, 2010.
The Washington-Ohio State game will mark
the first time in five years that the Rose
Bowl has featured the Pac-12 and Big Ten
champions. The last time that happened was
after the 2013 season, when Michigan State
defeated Stanford, 24-20.
Back to Pasadena
Washington and Ohio State are each making
their 15th appearance in the Rose Bowl.
USC (with 34) and Michigan (20) are the
only two programs that have been to the
Rose Bowl more.
The Huskies are 7-6-1 in the Rose Bowl
Game. The Buckeyes are 7-7.
This will be the first postseason matchup
between UW and Ohio State.
Pre-game festivities on January 1, will
begin at 1 p.m. PT (4 p.m. ET). The game
will be televised nationally on ESPN.
Additional tickets for the Rose Bowl Game
will go on sale on Tuesday, December 4, at

Back in the 80s, as a
goodwill ambassador representing the
U.S.A., Troy Cory and his back-up dancers
and singers, "The Brooke Sisters," were
the first entertainers from the United
States to appear in a full staged program
in the People's Republic of China during
the Shanghai TV Festival, and televised on
China's National Television (CCTV), viewed
by over 300 million
people.
It was there Cory met Jiang Zemin, then
mayor of Shanghai, and who later became
the 5th President of the People's Republic
of
China.
The '88 Shanghai Concert was the
beginnings of Troy's concert tours in
China for the next two decades. The
concerts, just to name a few, included the
following cities: Shanghai, Beijing,
Anshan, Harbin,
Fuzhou and and Tsingtao
(Qingdao)

FCC could kill net
neutrality
-- By
Jessica Rosenworcel, member of the
Federal Communications
Commission
I'm on the FCC. Please stop us from
killing net neutrality
Right now, you can go online and connect
with friends, watch videos and read the
news. There's a good chance you are
reading this online right now.
We do much more on the internet than
consume content, however. Increasingly,
the internet is also where we create. We
use online platforms and digital services
to develop, share and spread ideas around
the corner and around the globe.
This is the open internet experience we
all know, and it's a big part of why
America's internet economy is the envy of
the world.
But this week, the leadership at the
Federal Communications Commission put
forth a plan to gut the foundation of this
openness. They have proposed to end net
neutrality, and they are trying to force a
vote on their plan on Dec. 14.
If the idea behind the plan is bad, the
process for it has been even worse.
It's a lousy idea. And it deserves a
heated response from the millions of
Americans who work and create online every
day.
Net neutrality is the right to go where
you want and do what you want on the
internet without your broadband provider
getting in the way. It means your
broadband provider can't block websites,
throttle services or charge you premiums
if you want to reach certain online
content.
Proponents of wiping out these rules think
that by allowing broadband providers more
control and the ability to charge for
premium access, it will spur investment.
This is a dubious proposition.
Wiping out net neutrality would have big
consequences. Without it, your broadband
provider could carve internet access into
fast and slow lanes, favoring the traffic
of online platforms that have made special
payments and consigning all others to a
bumpy road. Your provider would have the
power to choose which voices online to
amplify and which to censor. The move
could affect everything online, including
the connections we make and the
communities we create.
This is not the internet experience we
know today. Americans should prevent the
plan from becoming the law of the
land.
There is something not right about a few
unelected FCC officials making such vast
determinations about the future of the
internet. I'm not alone in thinking this.
More than 22 million people have filed
comments with the agency. They
overwhelmingly want the FCC to preserve
and protect net neutrality.
At the same time, there are real questions
about who filed some of the net neutrality
comments with the FCC. There are credible
allegations that many of the comments were
submitted by bots and others using the
names of deceased people. What's more,
some 50,000 recent consumer complaints
appear to have gone missing.
As he announced this week, New York Atty.
Gen. Eric Schneiderman has been
investigating these apparently fake
comments for six months. The Government
Accountability Office is also looking into
how a denial-of-service attack may have
prevented people from getting their
thoughts into the official record.
In short, this is a mess. If the idea
behind the plan is bad, the process for
commenting on it has been even
worse.
Before my fellow FCC members vote to
dismantle net neutrality, they need to get
out from behind their desks and computers
and speak to the public directly. The FCC
needs to hold hearings around the country
to get a better sense of how the public
feels about the proposal.
When they do this, they will likely find
that, outside of a cadre of high-paid
lobbyists and lawyers in Washington, there
isn't a constituency that likes this
proposal. In fact, the FCC will probably
discover that they have angered the public
and caused them to question just whom the
agency works for.
I think the FCC needs to work for the
public, and therefore that this proposal
needs to be slowed down and eventually
stopped. In the time before the agency
votes, anyone who agrees should do
something old-fashioned: Make a
ruckus.
Reach out to the rest of the FCC now. Tell
them they can't take away internet
openness without a fight.
