1988 - CELLULAR SOUTH: Founded  1988. headquarters Ridgeland , MS, USA.

1990 - T- MOBILE: Founded in 1990 headquarters Bonn, Germany.

1995 - ONSTAR: Founded in 1995. Head quarters Detroit,MI, USA.

1992 - SPRINT - Sprint's name is changed from United Utilities to united Telecommunications 1992. United Telecom adopts the nationally recognized identity of its long distance unit, changing its name to Sprint Corporation.

1993.Following its merger with Centel Corporation, Sprint becomes the only major U.S. telecommunications company providing long distance, local and wireless services.
1997 - Sprint directly acquires PCS wireless licenses which, along with those held by the Sprint PCS joint venture, result in Sprint-branded PCS coverage of nearly 260 million people across the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

1999 - Verizon: Founded in 1999. Head quarters Baskin Ridge, NJ, USA.

2007 - ATT - At Last, in 2007, AT&A was given permission by the FCC to entered into the Wireless Telephone©™© industry.
ATT was founded in 1876 as a land line phone service only. PHOTO: below taken in 1913  ATT first transcontinental telephone line. the day the federal reserve was created.  1927- AT&T begins transatlantic telephone service, initially between the US and London. The conversations crossed the Atlantic via radio. The initial capacity is 1 call at a time, at a cost of $75 for the first three minutes.
1946 - AT&T begins offering mobile telephone service. With a single antenna serving a region, no more than 12 to 20 simultaneous calls could be made in an entire metropolitan area. 1947 - AT&T develops the concept of cellular telephony. The technology to realize the concept did not yet exist. 1983 - In conjunction with the soon-to-be-divested Ameritech, AT&T opens the first commercial cellular telephone system in the United States in Chicago. 1993 - AT&T announces a definitive merger agreement with McCaw Cellular Communications Inc, the largest provider of cellular service in the United States. The acquisition is later renamed AT&T Wireless. AT&T completes the transaction in 1994. 1994 - Stockholders at AT&T's annual meeting approve changing the legal name of the company from American Telephone and Telegraph Corporation to AT&T Corp. AT&T - completes its merger with McCaw Cellular. The newly acquired wireless systems gradually adopt the AT&T Wireless name.
