Taylor Wane, adult film legend and Penthouse
Pet, has been busy exposing her talents. The 2005
induction into the AVN Hall of Fame, brought her a
lot of inquiries to do films. Her co-staring role
with Gene Simmons in Family Jewels, a new reality
show was hilarious but certainly showed her acting
ability. She also danced in Fire Starter, a video
from Simmons newest solo album. Ms. Wane appeared
on Gene's autobiography on A&E. Incidentally,
this was the first time that Penthouse Magazine had
attended AVN. Daniel C. Stanton, spoke with Pyramid
Films about the directions Penthouse is taking in
merchandising their
products.
CELEBRITIES ENJOY MAX'S CAFÉ
Recently, Gary Sax, a musician, film
producer, and owner of Take 1 Nightclub, the first
club in the entertainment district in downtown Las
Vegas, joined producer and host of Valerie's Stage,
Valerie MacConnell at Max's Café in Desert
Passage in the Aladdin Hotel. They were joined by
Kevin Nelson, the manager, who said Max's
Café will expand their restaurant into a
nightclub in February. Max's Café is famous
for its 3 for 1 drinks. They also specialize in
$3.99 lunches and $6.99 dinners. The restaurant
chain, which is based out of Florida, is open from
Sunday-Thursday 11:00 to 11:00 PM and 11-midnight
on Friday and Saturday. Unlike many restaurants,
Max's Café also specializes in fresh
Swordfish Tuna, and Salmon at $15.99, which is much
more reasonable then other strip
restaurants.

LOU
RAWLS MUSIC WILL LIVE
ON
Lou Rawls was the kind of individual who
never forgot his roots. Born on the south side of
Chicago, he started his singing career in a Baptist
Church choir at age seven. He was truly a visionary
just as much as he was an entertainer. I remember
when he wanted to build a casino in Las Vegas. He
had every intention of doing that on the West Side
but was advised not to by other casino owners. I
also remember Lou enjoying the art of acting. He
wanted to have his own TV series. Most importantly
though, Lou believed in helping children through
the United Negro College Fund in which he hosted
the Telethon for over thirty years. Yes, 'This
Bud's for You', and 'Yea Buddy' Lou Rawls will be
remembered for his sixty plus albums, three Grammy
wins, thirteen Grammy nominations, one platinum
album, five gold albums and one gold single. We
will all upon occasion sing, ' Love is a Hurtin''
Thing' and 'You'll Never Find (Another Love Like
Mine.')
George Clooney, Randy Gerber, Jim Stuart,
and Jorge Kerg all agree that their new resort
project, Las Rambles, will bring back classic
memories of the old Vegas, a place where one can
converse and reminisce about the way it was. Of
course the way it was and the way it is, is what we
have to face in today's
society.
What do you think about Martha Stewart's
conviction? The fact that she lost her appeal to
have her conviction on perjury and obstruction of
justice overturned is nothing compared to what
would have happened to the regular Joe who had no
money. Stewart obviously got some inside
information from her former stock broker Peter
Bacanovic, which gave her the hook up to sell
almost over four thousand shares of IMCLONE
Systems, Inc. Bottom line, sit back, take your
punishment and move on.
Film director James Fargo is one of the
fortunate people who was able to break into
Hollywood. After graduating from School of
Communications at the University of Washington,
Fargo traveled to Hollywood and bravely walked into
20 Century Fox studios only to find out about the
catch 22 syndrome. You can't get in the union if
you don't have a job, and if you don't belong to
the union you can't get a job. Fargo was fortunate
though. He got a two year apprentice program going
to all the studios. He landed at Universal and
worked on Joe Kidd, High Plains Drifter, Brezzie,
which Clint Eastwood directed and William Holden
stared in. He also was an assistant director in
Iger Sanction, and Out Law Josie Wales. Like all
success stories James Fargo paid his dues working
as an assistant director and a second assistant
director. The big pay off came when Clint Eastwood
and associates gave him the directorship for The
Enforcer, Dirty Harry number three, one of my
favorites. He went on to direct Caravans with
Anthony Quinn and then Every Which Way But Loose
with Clint Eastwood.
Today Fargo and his partner Gary Sax are
working on Race to Triumph, a coming of the age
film where a high school senior who is a star
quarterback sustains a dream ending injury in the
second game and makes a great come back. For more

Eddie Mekka, known as Carmine on Lavern and
Shirley, appeared on Corner For Success with Amy Jo
Greer and myself last Friday on KLAV 1230 AM.
Mekka's roots go back to Broadway in Fiddler On The
Roof. He feels there is room for a song and dance
man in Las Vegas. "Las Vegas has come a long way
from being a cowboy town to an international city."
Mekka knows whereas he speaks. With forty million
tourist a year coming to Las Vegas, there is no
doubt there will be a few Broadway shows on the
Strip such as Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian
and others.
Until then, keep your visions positive and
keep positive people around you and above all, know
that God is there for you.
