Welcome
to FILMFEST MÜNCHEN 2004
--
From June 26 to July 3, one of the
largest cinema and television events of
the year will take place for the 22nd
time. Once again eight days and eight
long nights filled with Great Stories,
Great Directors, Great Actors, Great
Movies at Filmfest
München.
Once
again, from June 26 to July 3 this
year, Munich will host a feast of films
at Germany's second largest but most
audience-friendly film festival. Movie
lovers, international stars,
non-mainstream artists, industry
professionals and tomorrow's talent
will come together in a celebration of
motion pictures from around the world.
As always, we will be screening the
highlights from Hollywood to Helsinki,
the latest productions from Beirut to
Beijing - roughly 180 films from 35
countries. In other words, from new
forms of artistic expression and
adventures in cross-cultural
understanding to just plain old movie
magic, there's something for everyone.
The
22. Filmfest München will be
incorporating a number of innovations.
The participating cinemas, to cite just
one, will be situated along the Munich
Movie Mile, all within walking distance
of each other, enhancing the festival's
cordial atmosphere. This convivial
ambience allows for more informal
encounters for both moviegoers and
guests and will, we hope, encourage
even more filmmakers from around the
globe to come to Munich to interact
with audiences on a personal level.
