Troy
Cory -
A
Short Biography
----"I
was the youngest of six children", said Troy,
during a recent TV interview with columnist/tv
host, Larry Leverett, of "Hollywood
Beat", "my grandfather was Nathan B.
Stubblefield, the inventor of the "wireless
telephone" and the original Radio
Boy.
----Q.
It seems the career of your grandfather, Nathan
B. Stubblefield - - and you, Troy Cory
Stubblefield, started in radio, and both
of you have had similar experience in receiving
what's due, from the business
world.
----A.
"except my grandfather Nathan invented "radio" --
then patented it in 1907, as the wireless
telephone -- something that no man can ever
repeat!"
"It's
a hard act to follow" said Troy Cory, "the only
thing I've been able to do for radio broadcasting
is sing and own a few stations.' But, what the
heck, I've perfected a relaxed smooth type of
musical performance that seems to reflect the story
of love, romance and the lonely -- the type that
only a Huckleberry Finn or a Tom Sawyer type of guy
would appreciate."
Troy has been able
to direct and produce --
many televion
shows for many other singing artists and has
"picked up" from them -- on how to present his own
albums of popular contemporary songs with the
emotional understatement that seems to dominate
English pop and western music.
----A most
talented and well-loved American performer, his
collection of songs, has given Troy the full
opportunity to sample his easygoing charm --
whether the music be slow, romantic, pop or in a
Country and Western feel.
----Most of
Troy's Country songs were recorded in
Worcestershire, England at Muff Merfin's "Old
Smithy's". Munich, Germany is the place where most
of his pop and big band sounds were
recorded.
Part
02 -
A
few of the Troy Cory songs now heard throughout the
world and webcast on "YouTube, and
LookRadio
were first recorded in mid-50s when Troy was a
teenager.
----
The 60s,
70s, 80s, and 90s, television shows, prepared Troy
for today's world of the Internet.
---- Troy
first recording were released by Specialty
Records, Mercury Records, BBC RadioPlay Music,
Cinema Prize and VRA TelePlay Music.
During the past 20 years, the RadioPlay music was
"specially" recorded as a sales tool, to reach out
to the English music marketplace within the British
Commonwealth and the People's Republic of
China."
Troy
Cory is an entertainer with a smooth, friendly
style, that makes it easy for one to interpret. On
most of his recordings that feature the Ambros
Seelos Orchester, Troy takes the listener on a trip
down memory lane. He mixes his own songs -- with
some of the oldies but goodies the listener can
relate back to.
